Lilibet’s tiara, given to her by Queen Mary, had suddenly snapped and an aide had to be whisked off in a taxi to the jewellers for a quick repair and as if that wasn’t enough, the pearl necklace that Lilibet wished to wear, which was a gift from her father, had been left on display along with all the other wedding presents at St James’s Palace.
