Meet Rex. Our new bag. Hand made in the Tusting workshops. Designed with the help of my stylish friend Isabella, married to my cousin Tim.
'This sounds easy', she thought when I invited her to co-create the bag. She was amazed to discover it was not. Well, it wasn’t quite as hard as training for the greatest physical challenge of her lifetime, which she also undertook at the beginning of this year.
I knew there was no-one better to help me on this creative mission than Isabella, an ardent adventurer, who brought Rex, in its sample phase, to a base camp in the snow, where she was involved with the ultimate winter battle ‘Everest in the Alps’.
She’s a woman who carries not only optimism and joy with her but also, regularly, a good-looking bag over her shoulder.
Join us both tomorrow, when we talk about boarding school, where incidentally we had to hold up our skirts to the only male member of staff, who checked we were wearing regulation green knickers. Nothing odd about that, right?
We will also chat about being mum’s of 5, indomitable dad’s, and why women support women. Every Rex sold raises £25 for Prince’s Trust ‘Women Supporting Women’ project.
Also in aid of this cause we are opening up our Guest House on Harbour Island, to rent, for the next 8 weeks and will be donating a percentage of that directly to helping young women in need.
Wander down our sandy path to 3 miles of pink sand beach, and lie under the thatched cabanas and watch the light changing over the ocean.
I hope to see you tomorrow LIVE on Instagram, 11am EST 4pm London tea time.
Love the guest house on Harbour Island. And, that beautiful path to the ocean! 😍
I have to say, the boarding school ritual for the "green knickers" was pretty crazy... !!
But, it is what it is, I suppose... at least you can look back and laugh!
