Beautiful piece, India. I, too, love animals and Dachshunds. Ours rules the roost and our beloved departed pets’ ashes are in individual wooden boxes with their names and are on our bookshelves, that way, they are always with us. Although, I have kept my beloved cat Fritz (he passed this past winter) on my nightstand, as I can’t bear to have him far from me. I miss him terribly.

I love this and am also a devoted animal lover. Ran away from home on my first pony but my father found me and brought me back. Now i’m nearly 84 and would do it again ‘🥰
India, thank you for sharing. My grandmother was an expert at riding horses, playing golf and tennis. She died when I was 18 months old so she never got a chance to teach me her talents, though I seem to have inherited her abilities. When I was a child, there was a park near my house that offered pony rides for young children. They also had an Animal farm up the road from the pony rides area.
